As per Deadline, responsible for the scoop, Jusu's movie will be set in the universe of David Cronenberg's original film and won't follow a straightforward remake route. Jusu will serve as the director and scriptwriter for the project.
According to Deadline, the storyline remains under wraps, yet if it draws inspiration from David Cronenberg's 1986 masterpiece, which bagged an Oscar for its remarkable make-up effects, one can assume that plenty of disturbing body transformations await viewers.
Cronenberg's film delved into themes associated with ruthless scientific advancements and corporate entities financing edgy research ventures.
