Brit forcibly removed from bar during vacation, viciously assaulted by staff upon refusal to cover £460 drink tab.

In the heart of Chiang Mai, Thailand, a shocking incident has unfolded at the Diamond Karaoke Bar on Sri Don Chai Road. A 27-year-old British tourist, Cameron James Wilkins, was subjected to an assault by bar staff following a dispute over an allegedly inflated drinks bill.

The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on Thai social media, shows a group of bar employees forcibly restraining Wilkins, kicking him, pulling off his shirt, and searching him for valuables. The attack left Wilkins with minor injuries and has sparked public concern about pricing practices and tourist safety at nightlife venues in Chiang Mai.

Police responded promptly after the video went viral, resulting in the arrests of nine staff members. The group, aged between 18 and 28, include individuals named Teerasak, Siladon, Narong, Apichart, Adisarn, two Sakdas, Worrapoj, and Somsri. The victim has since filed an official complaint with the local authorities.

Interestingly, another holiday bar brawl made headlines, this time in Turkey at the Mad Boys restaurant in Marmaris. The bar, which had been operating for only two months under new management, was shut down by authorities following an incident where a male Brit was seen trying to fend off attackers, and two women attempting to break up the fight were punched and stamped on before collapsing.

These developments highlight both the seriousness of the incidents and the local authorities' commitment to addressing such disputes involving tourists in the region. Tourists are advised to exercise caution when visiting nightlife venues and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

The alarming incidents at the Diamond Karaoke Bar in Chiang Mai and the Mad Boys restaurant in Marmaris, though occurring in different countries, underscore the need for tourists to be vigilant about their safety, especially when engaging in the local nightlife. Despite the escalation of crime-and-justice issues in general-news, it's encouraging to see that the authorities are taking steps to address these problems and ensure tourist lifestyle remains enjoyable and secure.
