Dubai's DET Shines Bright at ATM 2025, Claiming the Sustainable Stand Award

The festivities at Arabian Travel Market 2025 were raised a notch as Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) snatched the Sustainable Stand Award. This veritable jamboree played out at the imposing Dubai World Trade Centre.

With an independent panel of industry bigwigs casting their votes, DET's stand earned a top spot due to its eco-conscious design crafted primarily from 84% reused materials and 100% locally sourced resources that leave a minimal carbon footprint. This move not only conserves resources but also boosts local businesses.

Not stopping there, DET rolled out a series of green initiatives. For instance, eschewing printed materials, digital brochures were now accessible via QR codes. Food offerings showcased a plant-based menu served in eco-friendly packaging, and giveaways were limited to environmentally friendly items, aiming to set an example for sustainable practices.

Demanding their fair share of attention were other tourist hotspots, like Abu Dhabi and Qatar, commended for their impressive sustainability strategies.

Winners in other categories included Oman's Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for the exquisite crafts and cuisine on display at their booth. HeyTrip International bagged the Best Stand Design (50-150sqm) trophy for its vibrant and space-efficient layout. FlyAkeed claimed the top spot in the under 50sqm category thanks to its dynamic LED-driven display.

Kerzner International triumphed in the Best Stand for Doing Business, lauded for its inviting layout and strong functionality. A.A. Al Moosa won Best Use of Technology, while the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board was feted for Best Stand Feature thanks to their live cultural performances.

The examination of entries was lauded by Exhibition Director Danielle Curtis for their inventive approaches in sustainability, hospitality, and design.

The 32nd edition of ATM plays host to over 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries, reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading global epicenter for both tourism and business.
