Allegiant Airlines Expands Florida Network with New Nonstop Routes
Allegiant Airlines is expanding its Florida network, connecting several U.S. cities to popular vacation destinations in the Sunshine State. The airline's new routes, set to launch in late 2025 and early 2026, aim to provide travelers with nonstop access to sunny destinations and affordable, direct options beyond the usual hotspots.
The key new nonstop routes involving Florida airports are:
- From Huntsville International Airport (HSV) to:
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), starting November 19, 2025
- Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), starting February 12, 2026
- St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE), starting March 5, 2026
- From Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) to four Florida destinations, starting in December 2025 (Fort Lauderdale on December 4, others around Presidents’ Day weekend):
- Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
- St. Petersburg (PIE)
- Orlando Sanford (SFB)
- Punta Gorda (PGD)
- From Appleton, Wisconsin (ATW) to Orlando International Airport (MCO), starting January 16, 2026
- From Rochester, New York (ROC) to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), starting February 13, 2026
In addition, Allegiant is launching service out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers to cities including Appleton, Wisconsin, and Des Moines, Iowa, starting November 2025. These routes are outbound flights from Florida rather than Florida arrivals.
International travelers from Europe or Florida's Gulf Coast can find low-cost service with Allegiant, with one-way fares to various destinations starting at $49. Travelers should check Allegiant's site for bundled fares or car rental offers.
Allegiant's chief commercial officer, Drew Wells, stated that the expansion reflects their commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options. The airline's point-to-point model results in shorter airport times and fewer layovers, making spontaneous travel easier and cheaper from the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic.
Allegiant is also ending its service in San Antonio and charging for optional extras like carry-on fees, seat upgrades, and food and drinks, as well as $5 for printing a boarding pass at the airport. However, the airline's expanded Florida footprint offers affordable, direct options to key fly-in vacation hubs beyond the usual hotspots for Florida-based travelers.
The new Florida nonstop destinations Allegiant is adding in 2025–2026 include Fort Lauderdale, Orlando Sanford, St. Pete-Clearwater, Sarasota Bradenton, and Punta Gorda, connected mainly from Huntsville and Atlantic City, plus expansions from other cities into Florida airports. There will also be new service between Fort Lauderdale and Fort Wayne (IN). Fort Myers (RSW) is a new destination joining Allegiant's Florida network, with flights from Fort Myers to Des Moines (IA), Appleton (WI), and Allentown (PA) starting in November.
