Emirates, flydubai & DOF Team Up to Boost Dubai's Cashless Tourism
Emirates and flydubai have joined forces with Dubai Finance (DOF) to promote the Dubai Cashless Strategy among international tourists. The partnership aims to boost economic growth and enhance the tourism sector.
The Dubai Cashless Strategy, part of Dubai's Economic Agenda (D33), projects an annual boost of over AED 8 billion through innovative fintech services. The strategy targets 90% cashless transactions across government and private sectors by 2026.
Emirates and flydubai, with their extensive global reach, will explore opportunities for workshops, training sessions, and trend evaluations. They will leverage Emirates' 14 payment gateways and Skywards, its 100% digital loyalty program, to drive adoption. The partnership targets Dubai's 18.7 million annual tourists, offering improved digital payment experiences.
Emirates, flydubai, and Dubai Finance signed MoUs in 2024 to support the Dubai Cashless Strategy. By promoting digital payment methods among tourists, they aim to enhance Dubai's competitiveness and tourism sector.
