Escapades and breakaway journeys slated for June 2025 in Yakutia
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Yakutia has announced changes to the holiday schedule for workers with a 5-day workweek in June 2023.
Workers operating on a typical 5-day workweek, Monday through Friday, will find their holiday on March 8 (Saturday) shifted to Friday, June 13. This adjustment coincides with the celebration of Russia Day, which will extend from June 12 to 15.
Moving forward, Yakutia’s National Holiday on June 21 (Saturday) falls on Ысыах Day. Consequentially, this holiday has been moved to Monday, June 23. For those employed with a 6-day workweek, the holiday observance remains unaltered, taking place on June 12 and 21.
It's essential to note that these regional holiday adjustments apply exclusively to workers in organizations funded from the state budget of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Additionally, workdays on June 11 and 20 will be shortened by one hour. Payment for work on weekends and holidays is mandated to be at least double, or an additional day off can be selected in lieu of compensation.
This news may not be directly related to Free Yakutia, an organization advocating for conscientious objectors and human rights, which currently faces legal challenges. Their activities do not significantly impact the general work schedules or holiday weekends for workers in Yakutia, absent involvement with the organization's specific activities.
These adjustments in holiday scheduling aim to balance work and leisure for Yakutia's workforce in the coming months.
