Helicopter service debuts, enabling pilgrims to journey to Triveni Sangam during Maha Kumbh festivities
News Article: Helicopter Service Offers Convenient Access to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj
The ongoing Maha Kumbh, one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world, is taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to draw millions of devotees. To make the pilgrimage more accessible, a new helicopter service is now available, provided by the Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board in collaboration with Fly Ola.
This service offers a convenient, comfortable, and quick way for visitors to partake in the Maha Kumbh. Passengers can board the helicopter at Prayagraj Airport and be dropped off at a helipad near the Triveni Sangam. A boat will then take passengers directly to the Sangam for the holy dip, and the same boat will return them to the helipad after the dip. The helicopter will then take passengers back to the airport.
The entire package for the helicopter service is priced at Rs 35,000 per person, but a more affordable option is available for those who wish to experience the Sangam from the air. For those on a tighter budget, a Rs 1,200 joyride option is also offered.
The helicopter service is particularly beneficial for elderly and differently-abled individuals due to reduced walking distances. Fly Ola Group CEO RS Sehgal emphasizes the company's commitment to providing a smooth journey from arrival to the holy dip and back to the airport.
The Maha Kumbh began on January 13, 2025, and will continue until February 26. The service is provided by the Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board in collaboration with Fly Ola. SOTC Travel, in collaboration with Thomas Cook India, is offering the premium aerial darshans for faster and more comfortable access to the pilgrimage site.
The helicopter service directly accesses the Triveni Sangam at the Boat Club, with passengers being dropped off near the Sangam and transported by boat for the holy dip. This service ensures that a visit can be completed in 4 to 5 hours without the need for hotel bookings.
The Maha Kumbh is a unique opportunity for devotees to take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. With the new helicopter service, more people can now experience this spiritual event in a convenient and comfortable manner.
