The tours, which do not require registration, cater to various interests. Whether you're an avid hiker or a history enthusiast, there's something for everyone.
The first tour is a hike on the Fürstenweg, setting off on August 3rd at 11 am. This approximately four-hour hike costs €10 for adults and €5 for children and offers a breathtaking view over the Neuwied basin, covering roughly eleven kilometers.
For those more inclined towards the city, the second tour is a city tour on August 3rd, commencing at 2 pm. This tour costs €6 for adults and €4 for children and provides an exploration of the heart of Neuwied.
The third tour, a dyke tour on August 10th, starting at 2 pm, offers a unique insight into Neuwied's flood protection. The dyke, completed in 1931, serves as a crucial flood protection and houses the gauge tower on the dyke, showcasing the height of past Rhine floods. The dyke tour costs €6 for adults and €4 for children and includes a visit to the dyke information center, a walk over the dyke wall, and a part of the earth dyke.
Registrations for all tours can be made by phone, email, or in person at the Tourist Information office, located at Market Street 59. For those preferring digital communications, emails can be sent to [email protected]. Alternatively, registrations can be made up to two days before the tour date.
