Hello there! I'm thrilled to introduce myself, I'm your new buddy, Monica, joining the crew at our site. In non-fancy terms, I'll be handling all things content - from writing blogs to managing everything for our swanky website!
After wrapping up a whirlwind week at the 20Booksto50k conference, I can't wait for what's next! I've already made some fantastic connections with the team here.
To get you acquainted with me better, I recently chatted with our social media guy, Pablo. Here's a quick Q&A session:
What's your backstory?
I've been dabbling in copywriting for about half a decade, hopping from one industry to another. Most recently, I was working for a marketing agency, focusing on the elective healthcare biz, including plastic surgery and aesthetics.
Though it was a cool gig, it didn't really light my fire. As a published author of steamy romantic tales myself, I couldn't resist the chance to work for our site. After all, I discovered the magic of self-publishing a few years back, and it swept me off my feet! From designing covers to formatting books, learning to bounce back after a one-star review, and much more – the experience was a rollercoaster ride of humility and fulfillment.
Working for an outstanding self-publishing aggregator like our site felt irresistible. Plus, our team genuinely values writers' success. Our site offers a treasure trove of free online resources, and the company counts itself a staunch advocate for writers.
What's your role here?
Content strategy encompasses various tasks, but it boils down to creating and planning content for our brand. I'll be charged with writing blogs, promotional content, and managing all things related to content.
How does being a self-published author help your work here?
I sincerely believe we're living in a golden age for writers, and I want to share this enthusiasm with others. I've assisted a few pals to publish their works as well. As a content strategist for our site, I can help many more aspiring writers.
I'm all about showing writers the ropes of polishing their ebooks and distributing them to the entire world in a snap. Also, having completed the self-publishing journey, I'm well-acquainted with the challenges indie writers face. I can't wait to dig into these issues and help more writers embrace their publishing dreams.
How do you unwind?
I'm a California girl who's smitten with the beach life in picturesque Carlsbad, CA. When I'm not crunching numbers, you can find me basking in the sun, hiking, and soaking up the natural beauty. I'm a health and fitness buff, and nothing beats the great outdoors. However, there's nothing like curling up with a good book on my couch when I need a break. I'm also a dedicated music lover, with a soft spot for rock and symphony concerts. I try to catch as many shows as possible.
But enough about work, my current project is indulging in my sci-fi romance novel featuring hunky alien barbarians (no worries, my pen name remains a secret). See you around!
