Museum of Tomorrow Unveils 'The Lumisphere Experience' to Inspire 1 Billion for a Sustainable Future

The Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro is set to host an innovative installation, 'The Lumisphere Experience', from October 2 to December 19, 2025. Co-designed with Minds Over Matter studio and backed by the Institute for the Future, this interactive exhibit aims to inspire one billion people by 2030 to envision a positive future for our planet.

Curated by Fabio Rubio Scarano, who also holds the UNESCO Chair for Planetary Wellbeing, the installation invites visitors to imagine their ideal eco-future and transform those visions into captivating images. The Museum of Tomorrow and Visions2030 have joined forces to bring this international debut to life.

The research behind 'The Lumisphere Experience' seeks to track its impact on visitors' sense of empowerment and measure a phenomenon they term 'urgent optimism'. The installation is open to all and free of charge, coinciding with Brazil's hosting of COP30 and The Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio.

From October 2, visitors to the Museum of Tomorrow can engage with 'The Lumisphere Experience', contributing to a global movement towards a positive future. The research partnership aims to quantify the impact of this immersive exhibit, measuring its influence on empowerment and optimism as we collectively envision a sustainable planet.
