Qatar Airways Restarts Services to Iraq, Syria, Enhances Routes to Lebanon and Jordan in July
Qatar Airways is set to significantly boost its flight operations to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, starting from June and July 2025. This expansion comes after the lifting of regional airspace restrictions, allowing the airline to restore its full operations to these countries.
In Iraq, flights will resume to five cities with the following weekly frequencies:
- Baghdad: 16 weekly flights (13 from June 30, and 3 more from July 8) - Erbil: 10 weekly flights (7 from July 1, and 3 more from July 9) - Sulaymaniyah: 7 weekly flights starting July 2 - Najaf: 5 weekly flights from July 2 - Basra: 7 weekly flights from July 3
Syria will also see the resumption of flights to Damascus on July 6, with a daily service. This will increase to two daily flights from July 15, taking total weekly operations to 14.
Lebanon's Beirut will see an increase in services from 14 to 21 weekly flights starting July 1, with three daily departures.
Jordan's Amman will also rise from 14 to 21 weekly flights from July 1, adding a third daily frequency.
These flights feature daytime and early morning departures from Doha’s Hamad International Airport, with direct returns scheduled correspondingly. The expansion aims to strengthen Qatar Airways' connectivity in the region during the 2025 summer travel season and follows compliance with international aviation safety regulations.
The resumption of flights follows the lifting of regional air corridors that had previously been suspended due to security concerns. Qatar Airways confirmed the resumption of flights in a statement.
This expansion includes the resumption of services to Beirut and Amman, returning to full capacity. The Basra flights will include both daytime and early-morning departures from Doha's Hamad International Airport.
