Story of Genesis Illuminated with Light and Music at Johanneskirche, Dusseldorf
Starting from Saturday, 1st November, the historic walls of St. John's Church in Düsseldorf will transform into an immersive canvas for the light show "Genesis". This captivating event, part of the EONARIUM series, is set to run from January 11 to February 23, 2025.
The internationally acclaimed artist collective, PROJEKTIL, is behind the creation of this stunning light show. The collective, known for captivating hundreds of thousands of visitors in 25 European cities, promises an emotional and entertaining experience for audiences of all ages.
"Genesis" aims to provide a journey through space and time as an artistic tribute to the beginning of the world. High-performance projectors will be used to create a mesmerising light display, accompanied by classical and electronic music. The show will depict the formation of the sun, moon, and stars, as well as the awakening of life.
Wheelchair access is available, and the event can be booked in time slots between 18:30 and 21:30, with extended slots until 22:15 on weekends. Tickets for the event start at 6.90 EUR for children up to 9 years, 9.90 EUR for youth, and 13.90 EUR for adults. Tickets for the organ concert, to be held on January 25 and 26 at 19:15, are priced at 7.90 EUR for children, 13.90 EUR for youth, and 19.90 EUR for adults.
Alisa Ostermann, the project manager, emphasises that the show does not have a denominational framework, leaving it open and freely interpretable for everyone. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
On the 25th and 26th of January, a 30-minute live organ concert will accompany "Genesis". Works by Jacques Offenbach, John Wasson, and the Swiss duo Adriatique will feature in the show.
