Struggling women with rental issues to receive assistance from the new venture 'Housing conflict aid' startup.
In the city of Giessen, a new project has been initiated to support citizens in resolving conflicts with their landlords. Known as "Rental Conflict Help," this initiative offers a low-threshold, free access point for all residents.
The project's primary goal is to stabilize rental relationships early on, support people, and refer them to other specialist institutions if necessary. "Rental Conflict Help" provides independent, confidential counseling and neutral mediation between tenants and realtors, aiming to help people feel less alone with their rental problems and find solutions to conflicts before they escalate.
Located at Walltorstraße 3, "Rental Conflict Help" is part of a comprehensive support network, closely networking with existing counseling offers, municipal institutions, social carriers, and specialist realtors. Monthly team meetings are held with both full-time and volunteer staff, including network partners, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to conflict resolution.
The team for "Rental Conflict Help" consists of volunteers and a full-time coordination. Volunteers are sought for the project, with an introduction and professional guidance provided by the full-time project coordination. For more information, please contact Mareike Bähr from the Social Affairs Office at phone number 0641 306-2061 or via email at [email protected].
"Rental Conflict Help" does not provide legal advice but acts as a neutral intermediary for conflict resolution and problem-solving. The project provides neutral mediation and solution-oriented conflict resolution in housing-related conflicts. It also offers referral counseling for specific problem areas, making it a complementary building block in the existing support network for citizens of Giessen.
The office hours for "Rental Conflict Help" are twice weekly. The project is open to people who need support and mediation in existing rental relationships, particularly those affected by social burdens or language barriers.
By offering a supportive and accessible solution to rental conflicts, "Rental Conflict Help" aims to contribute positively to the community of Giessen, fostering stable and harmonious living environments for all its residents.
