T&T & Sun Group Expand Hospitality Footprint, Eyeing Luxury Gap in Vietnam

T&T Group is expanding its hospitality footprint, aiming to operate 10 hotels by 2026, backed by its airline and residential portfolio. Meanwhile, Sun Group plans to run 65 hotels and resorts by 2030, investing $96 million in aviation ventures.

T&T Group's hospitality ambitions have been bolstered by a strategic investment in Vietravel Airlines, increasing its charter capital to $50 million. The group aims to have 10 operational hotels by the end of 2026, supported by its airline and an expanding branded residential portfolio.

Sun Group, on the other hand, is investing heavily in aviation to complete its integrated hospitality ecosystem. By 2030, it plans to operate 65 hotels and resorts, with a $96 million investment in aviation ventures.

The reversal of Chinese tourist flows, with Vietnam seeing a 44 per cent surge in arrivals while Thailand experienced a 34 per cent drop, underscores the need for adaptability in hospitality planning. Tech adoption is also reshaping Vietnam's hospitality sector, with developers using data analytics and AI to personalise offerings and improve efficiency.

Vietnam's hospitality and real estate sectors are maturing, with over 90 international hotel brands currently active. Radisson Hotel Group is seeing real acceleration, opening new lifestyle properties and benefiting from regional tourism growth. Despite this growth, luxury and ultra-luxury segments remain underdeveloped, presenting a major untapped opportunity.

T&T Group and Sun Group are expanding their hospitality portfolios, supported by strategic investments and tech adoption. As Vietnam's hospitality sector matures, there's a growing opportunity in the luxury and ultra-luxury segments.
