On Saturday, 18.10., the event "PostOst" is set to take place at Kulturbar froelich & herrlich im Westflügel Leipzig from 19:30-22:30. This event is a collaboration between Referat Internationale Zusammenarbeit der Stadt Leipzig and Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung, and is part of the series "LOKAL DEKOLONIAL" in Leipzig and Heidelberg.

Julia Boxler and Ani Menua, in cooperation with X3 Podcast, will lead a discussion and broadcasting session around the topic of PostOst. This discussion will focus on self-understanding, visibility, and the power of collectives among people from Eastern, Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, or Central Asia living and being politically active in Germany. The event will be conducted in both German and English, with whisper translation into German for non-German speakers.

The performance "Garlic Ensemble" will also be part of the program. Artist Yasmeen Al-Qaisi invites participants to prepare garlic paste together as a culinary ritual and resistant gesture. Garlic in the performance symbolizes collective care and a metaphorical weapon against patriarchal and colonial violence.

Registration for the event is required, with further information to follow. It is worth noting that the venue is wheelchair accessible. Other "LOKAL DEKOLONIAL" events at Politik im Freien Theater, such as "LOKAL DEKOLONIAL: Belarus! Межы Памежжа - The Border of the Borderland" and "LOKAL DEKOLONIAL: Pluralism in Exile - Between Tension and Solidarity", are still part of the series.

"PostOst" describes people from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, or Central Asia living in Germany who are politically active, often addressing their specific migration experiences and cultural identities in the German migration debate. Julia Boxler and Ani Menua are individuals involved in this discourse, collaborating on projects like the X3 Podcast in Leipzig to foster dialogue and representation within these communities.

Attendees can look forward to an engaging evening of discussion, performance, and community building. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn, engage, and connect with others in a supportive and inclusive environment.
