Three-day urban celebration, marked by Willich's invitation for participation.
The city of Willich is gearing up for an exciting event, the "Back to Willich" Cityfest. This family-friendly extravaganza will take place on Sunday, with a diverse lineup of performances and activities spread across various locations.
The main day of the festival will feature a non-stop program on stage from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. A large stage measuring eight by six meters will be set up on the market in front of St. Katharina's church, featuring a colourful program all day long.
Performers on Sunday's stage include the Scouts, Schiefbahn Heimatverein, ASV, the Prince's Guard, the Junior Firefighters, the DRK, the Bossel and Bügel Club, KG Torfmöps, a fashion show, and MiniBeatz/TeenyBeats.
For those who love music, Saturday is not to be missed. The festival will travel back to the 80s with the band "OK - The Band from Nettetal," while another band, "McLennon," will play hits from the Beatles and other rock stars.
The "Back to Willich" City Festival also includes a shopping Sunday, making it a perfect family event. A Gourmet mile will offer various food options, including spit-roasted meat, currywurst and fries, burgers, churros, burritos, pasta from the cheese wheel, and poffertjes.
Little visitors will have their own share of fun with a carousel available on Huelsdonkstraße, alongside the DRK and public toilets. A gigantic bouncy castle "Seaworld" will also be set up by Halle 22 on Sunday, taking up almost the entire space with a length of 20 meters, a width of 11 meters, and a height of 8.5 meters.
Peterstraße will also be included in the Cityfest, but with a certain width reserved for the fire department's movement zone.
Each club, group, or institution will be represented with a stand at the City Festival on Sunday. Associations and institutions will present themselves not only on stage but also with stands throughout the city during the festival.
The festival continues on Friday evening with the "White Party," where everyone is encouraged to dress in white. The mood within the Werbering, the organisers of the event, is good, and everyone is looking forward to the festival.
The "Back to Willich" City Festival promises to be a memorable event, bringing together the community in a celebration of music, food, and camaraderie. So mark your calendars and get ready to be a part of this exciting event!
