Travel + Leisure Reveals Best Cities in Canada for 2025

Travel + Leisure has unveiled its highly anticipated list of the best cities in Canada for 2025. After receiving over 657,000 votes across more than 8,700 entries, including hotels, ulta beauty lines, and cities, the results are in.

Quebec City, Quebec, has been named the best city in Canada for 2025. This historic city, with its UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town, French architecture, winding streets, and charming food and shopping scene, has once again captured the hearts of readers. In fact, Quebec City has been named in the annual list of reader-favorite cities in Canada for the 10th time in a row.

Montreal, Quebec, follows closely as the second-best city in Canada for 2025. Known for its blend of European charm and North American energy, Montreal offers top-notch music festivals, galleries, restaurants, and a historic downtown area that is not to be missed.

Vancouver, British Columbia, ranks third on the list, impressing readers with its world-class restaurants, natural beauty, and hiking spots. The city's stunning landscapes, from the mountains to the coast, make it a must-visit destination.

Halifax, Nova Scotia, comes in fourth on the list, earning the title of the up-and-coming city in Canada. With its vibrant waterfront and natural beauty, Halifax is a hidden gem that is quickly gaining popularity.

Rounding out the top five is Victoria, British Columbia, a favorite on the West Coast due to its stately British architecture and green spaces. Many readers highly recommend a visit to Butchart Gardens, located just outside Victoria, as a must-see attraction.

For those planning a trip to Canada, it's important to note that US nationals and green card holders are both visa and ETA exempt. However, foreign nationals from some countries are exempt from needing a Canadian visa but must apply for an electronic travel authorization (eTA) beforehand to enter Canada by air. French nationals who live in Saint Pierre and Miquelon and are flying directly to Canada from St. Pierre and Miquelon do not require an eTA.

Interested travellers can check if they need a visa or are visa-exempt here. It's always a good idea to plan ahead and ensure you have the necessary travel documents before embarking on your journey.

Whether you're looking to explore the historic charm of Quebec City, the vibrant energy of Montreal, the natural beauty of Vancouver or Halifax, or the stately elegance of Victoria, Canada has something for everyone. So pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable adventure!
