Vlogger Hannah Witton Embraces Life After Ileostomy Surgery

Vlogger and author Hannah Witton, known for her candid discussions on health and lifestyle, underwent life-changing ileostomy surgery in 2020 in the UK. The procedure, a result of her struggle with ulcerative colitis, has led her to embrace her new body and its unique features, including her stoma, Mona.

Witton's ileostomy surgery involved creating an opening in her abdomen for waste collection, which she named Mona. This red, moist bag attached to her abdomen is changed daily by Witton, although some people opt for less frequent changes. Despite the adjustment, Witton is learning to appreciate her new body and its capacity, even using her stoma as an accessory in her fashion choices.

Post-surgery, Witton has had to cope with fatigue and pain after simple exertion, such as running to catch a train. To manage this, she uses a walking cane to help with reduced stamina and energy. However, she remains determined to break down the stigma surrounding life with a stoma by openly sharing her experiences with Mona.

Hannah Witton's ileostomy surgery has brought about significant changes in her life, both physically and emotionally. As she continues to heal and adapt, she remains committed to raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding stomas, one shared experience at a time.
