Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced a new destination in Germany: Tirana, Albania. The new route will provide more travel options for passengers looking to travel between Tirana and Cologne/Bonn.
The new route will commence operations on Monday, and Wizz Air will operate the service three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. The German airport involved in this new connection is Cologne/Bonn.
Wizz Air has chosen an Airbus A321 Neo aircraft for the new route. This modern, fuel-efficient long-haul airplane will have a seating capacity of 239 passengers. The flight duration for the new Wizz Air route is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
This new route by Wizz Air is not specified as a seasonal or permanent one. Cologne/Bonn airport has agreed to this new connection, and the operator of the aircraft used by Wizz Air for the flight from Tirana to Cologne/Bonn is Wizz Air itself.
The new route by Wizz Air between Tirana and Cologne/Bonn is expected to boost tourism and economic growth in both cities. In fact, it's anticipated that the specific days of operation will support over 600 jobs in the aviation sector in Albania and Germany.
